Family Searches For Dream Home In Wilmington, North Carolina

Episode HNT-5509H

After receiving a job offer he couldn’t pass up, Joey and his wife Micki, along with their two girls, Hope and Abbey, recently moved from New Jersey to North Carolina. They’ve been living in a rental home in Leland – a suburb of Wilmington – but they’re eager to buy a place to call their own, preferably across the Cape Fear river closer to town. But despite their $1.25 million budget, this house hunt comes with some unique restrictions; Joey’s job as an anesthesiologist requires him to live within 30 minutes of the hospital, otherwise he has to spend nights at work when he’s on call. Can this family find their forever home?

Filmed last summer and still on the air every now and then, this experience was so much FUN! We had the pleasure of working with two different HGTV production teams and after assembling what was in excess of 20 hours of footage (some in the midst of a crazy pop up thunderstorm), Micki, Joey and I all thought it was much easier and less stressful than we had expected. We learned all sorts of new terminology like “POV”, “OTS” and a few that were slightly more colorful. My one and only goal going into this was to make the most of the opportunity to showcase Wilmington and the wide variety of housing options we have in this seaside community. Mission accomplished!
